KI Genomics Core / MIT BioMicro Center and KI High Throughput Sciences Core

NEWS

Overview of Services

The MIT BioMicro Center / KI Genomics Core is an integrated Genomics facility that provides both expertise and equipment for systems biology.

The core has significant resources in next generation library preparation and sequencing.

To reserve equipment, please click on the "Schedule Equipment" tab above. For supported services (eg., Illumina or Fragment Analyser) please select "Request Service".

The Center is a joint endeavor between the Department of Biology, the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, and the Department of Biological Engineering.

The KI High Throughput Sciences Core (HTS) offers automation and screening capabilities to MIT researchers and external collaborators.

HTS aims to accelerate experiments from small-scale assays to large screening campaigns.  Details may be found here.

The HTS resources located in building 76 are supported by a NCI Cancer Center Support Grant to the Koch Institute- priority access is given to KI members and NCI-funded research projects.

Getting Started

FOR EXISTING iLABS USERS

The BMC and HTS facilities provide a variety of equipment for walk-up or assisted use.

To begin scheduling to reserve these equiment,

1) SCHEDULE EQUIPMENT on the upper part of this page

2) CREATE a time slot on the appropriate calendar.

Note: Remember to schedule time for setup and breakdown after you are done using the instrument.

For all other services that involve sample dropoffs, use REQUEST SERVICES.

A list of all your ongoing projects can be found in the VIEW MY REQUESTS tab.

FOR NEW or EXTERNAL (Non-MIT) Users

Please contact the appropriate core leader for information on scheduling equipment and requesting services.

New Users will be required to be trained on the equipment they wish to use.
